What an interesting day

What an interesting day. One of my first days off with my 8 was yesterday. So in the morning me and my girlfriend go to do some errands (pics with her and the car to follow ... grrrr.... ). We first stop at the car wash. This is Vancouver's only real hand wash car service place, where all the really nice cars go to. They start talking to me about my 8 and end up loving the chat so much they give me the whole wash (inside and out) for free... great start.

Then it went a bit downhill. Headed to look at some kittens (we're getting a cat) and this jackass behind me starts honking at me at a stop light because I hesitated a second before moving on after the light turned green. So I flip him the bird. Next light him and his stock Honda Civic pull up. He starts swearing and causing a scene then trys to race me off the line. I let him win (only 400 miles on the car, still breakin). Next light he gets all cocky starts being a super jerk. So I tell him to f-ck off... I roll up my window, about to move on my merry way and forget this guy. And he SPITS ON MY CAR! If I wasn't with my girlfriend I would've been very tempted to kick the **** out of this guy.

Then I look for some 5 W 20 to have in my car (oil was a little low already). Can't find it anywhere.. Jesus. Not even Mazda had it (idiots).

Then I went and played poker at the local cardroom. Lost. Lame.

Then to round off my day and even it all out. A bum starts going off about my car to me. I kinda brush him off until I realize that this crazy guy knows what he's talking about starts throwing all the accurate facts out at me asks to see the doors and how they work (I let him)... hit's me up for a quarter and goes on his merry little way.

I dunno why I wrote all that. Just a surreal day... BTW, Did I mention I LOVE MY 8!

And you know what? None of this would have happened to you if you didn't have the car. I'm sure the guy that spit on your car is somewhere bragging another one of those "I beat an RX-8" threads.

I get my 8 soon and hope to start off my day the same and end it a little different. Sorry about the break-in day. If someone spits on my car. I'll follow them and arrest them for assault by bodily fluid. That a$$hole. But anyway. Have a better day next time

Still a great day all in all. Was just worried while that spit was still on my car. Especially if he ate a lot of salty and sugary foods that day. I know what that stuff does to our stomachs. I'd hate to think what it might do to my paint.

Chalk up another kill for the '04 Civic. It might even have been the 125 HP V-TEC version.

Which car wash? I've used the hand wash on 4th near the entrance to Granville Island - am debating whether or not to try out the detailing place around the corner on 8th. In spring/summer will just wash it myself. My last car (95 passat) got a once a month through the touchless wash but want the 8 to stay mint.

See you round town - driving a Ti 8 with the child seat mod

Penman - It's that car wash you're talking about. The bunch of grubby looking guys that do an awesome job washing some the of sweetest cars I've seen around town. The other good place was in West Van, but was twice the price because of it's location. They did a great job but have since shut down. Touchless washes are nice but nothing beats a hand wash and hand dry.

I too plan to wash myself in summer, but it's way too damn cold in the winter.

You should have slammed on the gas and went full throttle. I would have. Not even an RX8 manual will beat my RX8 auto when I'm pissed :D
