I don't know, but I've heard enough horror stories that I'm glad I kept a winter car. I drive that "winter" car whenever I have to leave my car parked on a street or public lot. Sadly, my 8 now mostly goes from my home garage to my parking garage at work.

P.S: I started a thread in the Polls forum on vandalized cars, if anyone is interested. Little response so far.

Parking far away from other cars might make yours more visible. Plus there are idjits who will think, "I bet the owner of that $50,000 car is so full of himself, parking out there like that."

I leave my car in a public lot only if I'm going in for a very short time. For something like groceries, I'd take the "winter" car. And I couldn't enjoy a movie if the whole time I'm wondering if my 8 outside is okay.

Sadly, it almost feels like my 8 is being held hostage by the idjits of the world.

If you add "hit-and-run" as a form of vandalism (which in a way it is), then I'd raise my hand and I think many others would, too.

Looks like the number of angry icons I had in my post three weeks ago when I got hit by a cowardly hit-and-run artist. Anyway, I've also been keyed before myself (to the tune of several thousand) so I feel your pain, believe me. Even though yours may not be that bad, it should be covered by your comprehensive coverage--unless your deductible is high, I'd let a pro try to fix it.

10 years ago I caught two punks smashing out my windows. I beat the ever living hell out of the one I caught. My buddy took care of the other. Most enjoyable time I ever had beating the hell out of someone. Best thing was when we got back to the parking lot ( from running after the kid ) the cops were waiting there to cuff and stuff them. Turned out to be a very large car stereo equipment ring. They ratted out about 8 other guys before they made them pay restitution!!!!!! Sometimes......they get what's comin to them.
