What does M/C stand for?

I was browsing JapanParts and I keep seeing that certain parts are only for RX8 before M/C. What is M/C? I can't find even a single post with the abbreviation on this entire site, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wanted to try helping, so I tried Google, but this very thread was the first result when I typed in "M/C RX8".

Now I feel dumb because it probably really is something obvious. Thanks OP. :(

Don't feel bad. I think the two pic posters are just hiding their cluelessness as well.

And yes; I did make up the word 'cluelessness.'

SayNoToPistons 08-27-2010 09:53 PM

I dont know what it stands for, other than Mic Controller.

kma5783 08-27-2010 10:01 PM

It could be Model Change... like only for 04-08 before the new model. I don't really know but that would make sense to me lol

That would be my guess.

MazdaManiac 08-27-2010 10:44 PM

It normally means "master cylinder", but in this case it means "model change" (ie - 2009 +).

09Factor 08-27-2010 10:45 PM

All of you are wrong.
M/C Stand for Master Chief. See that was simple.

nycgps 08-28-2010 12:10 AM

It's model change.

ignore whatever bs all other nub sauce tells ya (for those who were correct, congrads)

The only thing is, japanparts.com has separate sections for the S1 and S2 RX8, so why put something in the S2 section and then write that it's only for the S1? Pointless stupidity.

The product in question is a B-pillar applique. Are the B-pillars different between S1 and S2?

yahuh.

Well, I still don't think we have a sure answer. Model Change makes no sense in regards to the product in question.

alnielsen 08-30-2010 10:07 AM

Call them up and find out.

I agree. It's not very likely that it means 'Model Change'. :scratchhe

I think it means 'Making Cheese'... at least that makes sense. :wiggle:

Lol a lot of people think that MC stands for Mic Controller... its actually Master of Ceremonies in that context.

neofreak 08-30-2010 11:53 AM

It's Minor Change. Same term is used in the Miata & RX-7 side. It's in all the Yamaguchi books.

Cylestyne 08-30-2010 12:03 PM

Stands for minor / model change. Usually minor change is referred to as MMC (minor model change).

So how might this affect a B-pillar applique? What was the S2 minor change?
