what do you use your cargo net for?

I haven't found anything the cargo net is good for. In some other cars, there are hooks to stretch it over the cargo to keep it from sliding around in the back, but I haven't found any way to do this in the RX. It just seems to be a net sack.

I would like to hear how some of y'all use yours (if at all).

Thanks.

I put small items in it to keep them from flying around the trunk. It's very useful in that regard.

Right now I'm keeping extra quart of oil in mine. I leave the severed body parts at the hospital.

I haven't given this a thought. Actually, forgot it was there. I look forward to seeing answers here.

Ditto, the spare quart of oil goes in there for me, as well as my dirty clothes from work that I'll someday manage to pull out of my car to wash, just like I eventually managed to take them home from work...it just hasn't gotten home yet.

Slight digression: Yesterday at Target I scored this great Case Logic collapsible cargo carrier. Check out this web site for a whole treasure trove of high-quality sh*t.

For under $20 I got the ATO 40 Folding Cargo Bag. I haven't see the comparable OEM RX-8 unit in person, but it looks similar in pictures and costs more than twice as much; and I would be surprised if it's higher quality.

The CL model has strong handles, a zippered top, side pockets and it collapses down almost flat in a second. When open it plunks right into the trunk well and keeps everything tidy.

Case Logic is a great company; I once made a warranty claim on a CD carrier and they sent me a brand new one. I think they have a lifetime warranty, no questions asked.

FWIW; no connection to the company.

And here's the OEM unit, which streets for about $52. I do like the partition in the middle:

You do know the net has hooks at all four corners to stretch it tight, right? I keep clearing gear like rags and polish, so I can touch up wherever I am. This stuff used to just roll around in the trunk well, now it's all out of the way.
