If it was'nt a four seater. I would'nt be getting it. I love everything else about it, but that was the determinating factor for me.

yep if it wasn't for those extra seats i couldn't buy one. but it isn't any one thing that makes me want this 4 seater- it's the whole package. there wasn't a "whole package" button in the poll

I agree with you totally, but I was curious what 1 feature you liked most. I love a lot of the features about the car, but the deal maker for me was the 4 person seating also.

I am the only one who likes it for its performance. It really hits the Performance / Price point for me. Of all the 4 seaters, this one performs the best for my needs. Plus it's flashy! :blingbling:

My sentiments EXACTLY!

The ability to seat four was the deciding factor for me too, but all the other attributes are practically just as high on my list. The RX-8 is definitely an AWESOME all around sports car package!

:D

Yep, just like most of you, I like the performance, the styling AND the Handling, but the thing that puts it over the top and became a sure winner for me is that it is also a 4-seater and the price tag. Talk about the whole package, man.

ditto... whole package. but mostly because of the 4 seats. but also i've always wanted something different (like a rotary!). so i voted for 4 seats.... imo, the styling is not so good (liked the least) but tolerable for such a great, promising sports car.

I like this poll! Thanks man! I think a sports car must have three things:
1. Looks, and is the RX-8 not sexy!
2. Performance.
3. Handling.
The RX-8 scores in all three very high, that is what makes the whole package so good. I was just surprised that "handling" was not an option in this poll.

I voted for rotary, but I guess rotary AND performance should have been a more correct reponse. If this engine was in a Mazda pickup I wouldn't be buying it, and if the RX8 had a sporty V6, I wouldn't be getting it either. If not for the RX8, I'd be getting a used FD. Plus there's the thought that if I buy an RX8 now, I'll convince Mazda to make another RX7.

I totally agree. The extra seats are a big plus but it's also the fact that it performs. If it was dog slow and had crappy handling then the extra seats would mean nothing.

Been Lurking here for a while.
Feel like I need to jump in for the first time.

Great poll!
For me it's tough to decide.
1. Styling
2. Performance
3. Seating for 4
4. ..... Rotary
5. ......RX-7
With the exception of the last choice (RX-7) it's all of the above

To me it's the package that is going to make this car a home run
for Mazda.

Everything goes hand in hand.
Seating for 4 in a small light weight pkg isn't possible without
the rotary.
Great performance & handling isn't possible without the small light weight pkg
etc.........

Talking

If it is not ROT TOR, round and round, what is a RX-8? My old soul is the not so good high rev VVTL-i. The new shall be the rev free Renesis.

For me the styling and handling were the most important factors, although I do like it being quite fast.

Actually, two big selling points for me are the audio system (reported to be excellent) and the satellite navigation which I need badly. Also, the quiet cruising so I can enjoy the former but the ability to leg it if necessary. And the rear lights (well the main red ones, not necessarily the whole cluster). And those rotors in the seats. And the sunglasses holder: my Maui-Jims flew off my dash into the footwell of my car today whilst negotiating a roundabout, that will not do! ETC...
