Question What to do next?

Well Guys/Gals, I am at a crossroad here. I've finally admitted to being a mod addict. I'm trying to figure out what to do next for my baby 8. I think I've done more mods than the average Joe, but I can't think of what to do next. Here's a list of what I have done so far:

1. Borla Exhaust
2. SR Motorsports lightweight Fly
3. SR Motorsports Intake
4. CZ Stage 1.1
5. MS Front/Rear Strut Bars
6. Racing Beat Front/Rear sway bars, end links, and springs
7. MS spoiler
8. Lighted Shift ****
9. MS Short Throw Shifter
10. Drilled/Slotted Rotars
11.. bah.. tired of typing.. look at my sig for the rest..

I was debating underdrive pulleys, but decided against it since they really only help high in the RPM spectrum. Frankly, I don't race all that often, so I don't need to worry about water cavatation. Was also thinking about trying to find stronger under braces to help with chasis flex. I'm definately going to switch the intake to the Racing Beat one when they finally decide to sell it. What do you all think? Is there anything either performance or looks wise that I missed? I'm not too keen on getting a different body kit, I love the way the car looks with the stock appearance package.

Any recommendations you guys/gals have, I would really appreciate it...

must... feed... the... addiction!

I was thinking about coil overs.. possibly Tein's... but those things are bloody expensive.. upwards of the $1200+... I like the drop in height that the RB gives.. granted it's only 1/2 inch roughly, but I think it compliments the 8 well... that and with the car only dropped 1/2 an inch it sort of looks like a sleeper.. if a non-turbo 8 even qualifies for that.. Once a good turbo/supercharged system comes out I am definately going after it.. warrenty be damned

Like I said earlier, I am not really interested in getting a body kit right now. Maybe in the future, but I am very happy with the stock appearence package kit that came with the car. The MS spoiler really compliments it well..

As far as underbraces go.. I can't seem to find any decent ones! Does Mazdaspeed make an underbrace kit? If so I would appreciate a vendor who sells them because I would grab those in a heartbeat.

Can't do tinting.. front window tint is illegal in New Jersey. I don't want a lopsided look with only the rear windows tinted

If you go with the Teins you can hookup theyre EDFC (Electronic Damping Force Controller). My fried has one installed in his Miata and it allows him to change the damping settingds realtime from softer to harder. Its a nifty little gadget.

Tinting is illegal in every state, get a light tint all around you should be okay just as long as they can see you with the windows up. I would work on suspension more than anything else, suspension mods are the only thing right now that is proven to improve "performance" with the 8, and would bring out more of the strengths of your car. Just my 2 cents

Suspension mods? Hmm.. nevermind.. I guess I must not have mentioned that I upgraded most of the suspension already.. And I don't see any reason to upgrade the stock shocks with the racing beat springs, in case anyone was wondering.. that would be a waste of money since for the compressions/rebound rate of the stock shocks is perfect for the RB springs..

Holy cow... I should design my own darn underbrace set for that money.. Could use the same template for the stock, just make the aluminum a bit stronger.. The stock under braces are really nice already.. better than they were on the FD's

BRAINSTORMING Here:

Stainless Steel Brake Lines with Performance Pads

Make the rear tires wider from 225 to 235 (maybe 245 if they will fit, not sure) for increased grip

Underdrive pulley set....I think that they would be good for low end response, that is when you are spooling up the RPMs with less weight and drag. If you do not like them you can uninstall and sell them. ~$419 on sale. Taking weight off the crank is always a winner...and will free HP up.

SR high flow cat...not sure of how much a gain you might get with the Borla exhaust already. ~$450

Replace Tranny and Differential fluids with Royal Purple or Redline. (CHEAP)
~$40

Magnetic Oil Drain Plug...catch metal particles and prevent them from recirculating through engine ~$9

Paint calipers matching color with the G2 system. ~$25

3rd brake light decal....I like these because they are subtle and not noticeable until the brakes are used. $8

MS grounding Kit or Lineage. Lineage says it gives a ~3HP increase...but I do not believe that......but people on the site agree that it "helps?" the car idle smoother.....

Lastly I will day the Spark Plug wires that racing beats sell. <$100 If I was to get an ignition parts, it would be only from them.

Tell us what you decide to do.

I will go over each of your excellent recommendations one by one.

Great Idea. I already have the MS brake lines on the way.. Forgot to mention that in my initial post since they aren't actually installed yet. I am not going to beef up the brakes because, frankly, they are awesome already. I can stop from 60-0 in 100ft or less

Already taken care of. I have 18x8 front and 18x9 rear wheels. I have 245's in the rear to take advantage of the wider wheel.

I am going to disagree on underdrive pulleys at lower RPM, we can save that debat for another thread. However, as soon as I find a good set of lightweight pulleys, I will getting them. Can't find anyone yet though with the exception of Cortc's.. and those are a bit pricey IMHO.. I'd be very happy with quality aluminum ones, titanium is a bit much for me

Definate Possibility, I was thinking of this so I could go after a more aggressive map setting for my Canzoomer unit... Though it's not really neccessary since I don't care if my cat lasts the full 120,000 miles that the EPA wants.. When it burns out I'll buy a high flow one.

Forgot to mention, I am already running all Royal Purple fluids. Changing sig to reflext

Those things actually work? Wow, relatively cheap too. Will inquire more about them.

Currently have my calipers painted black and am happy with it. Going to stick with the RB springs for the time being since I like the ride. Once I get closer to the warrenty being expired I'll go with coil overs since I'll be gearing to turn my 8 into a track monster then

Have one already. Thanks though

Totally slipped my mind. A definate candidate for my next mod. Thanks for pointing it out

I heard people having trouble with plug wires. If Racing Beats are high quality and don't give any heart ache, that's another definate mod that I would do along side the grounding kit

This is NOT true. Certain levels of dark tint are illegal but tinting is not illegal in all states!

Did you talk to RB about the plug wires they sell? Did they say anything extra special in regards to them?
