What do I be aware of with my 04 Rx-8?
I'm getting Mazda Rx-8 2004 in next two week, and because I have never owned a car with rotary engine before, I have be searching for info about what I need to take care of and be aware of. I have been reading lot of stuff, and I know about the flodding and that I need to check the oil everytime I fill the fuel tank. I am wondering if there is anything more I need to know?
And one little thing about the flooding, I have read some where it will be ok if I just rev it up to 3-4000 rpm and the turn it off. But if it's warm do I need to do that?
Ps. sorry for my bad english. I am from Iceland.

change gear and rear diff oil. GL-4 oil for Gearbox, GL-5 oil for Rear diff.
change all spark plugs and coils
all ECU programming up to date.
drive it like you stole it
and SEARCH THIS SITE FOR MORE INFORMATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A throttle blip will not keep a cold engine from flooding.
No. It is safe to turn off when warm without a throttle blip.
I have had zero problems turning my car off once the water temp needle has started to move off the cold indicator.

rjo007 = no cred
Depends on how you care for it. Look at my past miles. The only reasons I don't still drive those cars are SE-accident (totaled with motor looking like it would go 500k), GXL-Loaned car to brother at 45lbs oil pressure and he returned it with 15lbs (probably bogged the motor when cold - died a month later), GS-Motor allowed to overhead and blew (my fault), SE3P-Still going strong even after 109F days at Buttonwillow shifting at 10k+ (very good cpu engine protection that would have helped the GS).
