EssentialSusan 01-25-2013 01:52 PM

Wow, you make me feel so lazy!!

simonmd 01-25-2013 01:58 PM

Topped up with fuel (adding some 2 stroke oil into the mix) and worked out i'm doing 21mpg, not too bad i guess.

Also bought some red caliper spray, looking forward to smartening up my brakes!

j9fd3s 01-25-2013 05:23 PM

i drove it :)

next on the list are having the leaky tire fixed (i haven't had a car with 4 tires that hold air in so long i'm not used to it)

then, and only then i can put the bad tire* in the front, so the car has two good tires and in the back, and then it'll go straight when i hit the gas, instead of pulling right like a WWII fighter....

*used car, the right rear suspension has been replaced, all the links have the Mazda stickers on them, plus its got a couple of odd dings in the back, makes me think someone spun it, and hit something. of course the A hole that repaired it didn't align it! so 3 of the tires are 90% and that one tire is at like 10%.

but oh man what a fun car!

Just like mine. Way better than on the grille.

Chris113113 01-27-2013 02:04 PM

Replaced my battery today and dealt with some ECU issues. Starts like a demon now.

Cubexican520 01-27-2013 09:24 PM

Just ran the required Data Logs for my first Tune with the Cobb AP, any ideas where to put my white cobb sticker? i was thinking lower part of the windshield on the drivers side...

Grace_Excel 01-30-2013 04:35 AM

Burned the mid-night oil for a late night bump on a half-an-hour job, couldn't sleep so I installed my 25 mm wheel spacers.

Tools of the trade:

Had to use the OEM lug nuts for the OEM studs instead of the acorn nuts, the spacers has 12x1.25 not 12x1.5. I'll buy the proper nuts tomorrow.

hope i fixed the issue of the battery not being charged. alternator and the belts are good, just hoping that it was the connector not being on tight enough. still have to fix the driver outside door handle and change the plugs, coils, and wires.

Grace_Excel 02-03-2013 05:15 AM

Fixed fuel sending unit sensor. Stalled twice in the freeway two weeks ago, ran out of gas but the needle read one-third without tripping the low fuel light.

FK took it to a smog check station to get a CEL read
Either cat or 02 sensor.

In the News to Me Department, California Autozones are no longer doing free CEL reads.

What code(s) did you have? I have an AP midpipe and it's always P0139 P2096.

P0420 = "Catalyst system fault and/or rear oxygen sensor"

Devilish idea: Go catless n flame it uppppp on the roads in CA:rock:

Reality check: Car is just barely under warranty. 78K

Net result: Mazda bought me a new cat on Monday.

Grace_Excel 02-07-2013 12:35 AM

Gut your original one if they didn't take it from you :dunno:

car is driving great with the new master/slave cylinders. it smells a bit like melting plastic with movie theater popcorn butter at idle, but Chris told me the CAT would smell a bit like melting plastic for a few days... the popcorn butter, who knows?

Chris from Rotary Performance?

Let's see....
Changed the oil (Valvoline 5w-30, K&N oil filter)
Replaced the AFR sensor
Removed and reinstalled the UIM so I could reconnect the f***ing fuel injector that the previous owner left disconnected (connector is broken too...thx electrical tape)
Runs great now ha!

replaced the bad Bose (Bozo?) relay, i HATE soldering on PCB's, but it went well, and hey it works now :D:

next step is a wipe down of the inner door, and a good cleaning of all the parts i have off (the PO was a dirty dirty person, actually i think it was a dog)

picture is obviously not the door, but it gives a good idea on how disgusting the PO is.
