I'm finally getting my 8 in three weeks, and I'm not sure what color to get. I know that's not really a very big issue, but I want to make sure I'm happy with it cuz I don't really want to have to be away from it while it gets repainted if I decide I want a different color. Right now my top choice is titanium... Any suggestions at all?? The only colors I don't think I'd go with are black or red, because I hate waxing black cars and I'm sure I could wallpaper a large room with the speeding tickets I'd get if I had a red... Also, I'm thinking about getting the GT and appearance packages. Anything else it would be smart to get in addition to/instead of those??
Sorry about my newbie questions that I'm sure you've heard often and are really tired of seeing on here, but any opinions would be great.

I decided to get the Sport package instead of GT. In the US the GT package means you automatically get a moonroof, which lowers the headroom by quite a bit. It was a tight fit for me and I knew I'd have passengers who would not fit. I guess the moonroof is ok if you never plan on letting tall people in your car

Lots of the GT stuff I really didn't care about so Sports package was the best bang for the buck for me. The only GT item I really did want was the leather but that can be taken care of very well aftermarket.

As far as color, well, they're all good. Yellow did it for me. Best way to decide is see all the colors in person, if possible.

I quite liked Titanium Gray in person, I thought it was a nice sports car color that won't get dirty. Sunlight Silver is a little too bright for me personally, red and black are exactly as you described, yellow is a bit too loud. I liked Winning Blue in the catalog, but it didn't do much for me in person, it's much brighter in real life. I was floored by Nordic Green though, it looks very different depending on weather conditions - anything from black to shiny sparkling green and anything in between. My two choices were Titanium and Green, and it came down to what car the dealer had with my package. I would also recommend looking in person, these colors look completely different on the car in real life. But Titanium is very nice.

As far as packages, GT is the way to go if you want leather, other than that, I don't think the power seat and lumbar support is worth the upgrade from Touring. I wanted a sunroof in the worst way, so I had to get touring...and upgraded to GT immediately 'cause I liked leather. It's really up to you. The cars all look great. Good luck.

Colors...a personnal choice. My lame opinion: the comic-book colors (red, blue, and yellow) look good on the lot but don't look good in the wild. They almost make the car look like a plastic model kit.

The light gray - ugh. Blend in with the pack of Hondas out there.

Titanium Gray - good color

Black - looks good when new and clean, but after you back it out of the driveway....

Nordic Green - Good all around color (naturally I say this because I own one and have impecable taste). Also, there seem to less NG cars out there...did Mazda produce less of them? Green is cool.

All of the packages are good depending on what you want and need. At least get the sport package...the others add more bells and whistles if you need/like them.

Silver is far more of a sports car color than gray :P

Gray is one of the most popular RX-8 colors simply because it is different, but I didn't like it all that much in person. Blue would be my second choice after silver. Then black...

I know it is the rarest, but I love my yellow - it is VERY yellow, not cab yellow and really gets the attention... no cops yet, though, in 9 months...

Colors are completely personal preference. Red and yellow are definitely going to get you seen easily by anything that is not blind (cops included), titaniumm and silver are both sleek, sexy colors that can be seen relatively easily. Silver and titanium though are colors you see on average everyday cars all over the place. In fact, in 2003 AND 2002 silver was voted most popular color in a nationwide survey of new car purchases. Anyway, Blue is where you cant go wrong.... :D , and black is a James Bond type look that looks completely stunning at dusk with the rotary accent package....its very deceiving. But the choice is yours and no one else can pursuade you to what you think looks good.

I went with the Grand Touring package and red....

To be honest, I think all the colors look great. What I really wish is that they made a nice pearl white one... the GT interior with white in there would look real nice...

Since we're on the subject of color.. I have decided Im going to get flames painted on the front of my BEAST!! The original plan was to buy a silver and have green flames painted up there... but I opted for the red.. so Ill have to do some playing in Photoshop to find a color scheme that works..

Man, I agonized over the color choice for sooooo long! I went with the ti-grey because it looks kind of "elegant" to me. My other favorite colors for the 8 are: silver, black, red, blue, green or yellow. Does that help? :D

I have not observed a real difference in getting tickets based on car color. I got plenty of tickets in my grey 300ZX.

Personally, I found grey to be my top choice, with yellow and red to be a close second, and blue, black, and silver a next tier, and I didn't like the green at all. I found it to be kind of a "big" color for a small car, more appropriate for a big SUV or an XK-R or something like that.

I love the Yellow. You will see me now and 5 years from now. Blue would be 2nd. black third.

Thanks for all the input. I do agree that every color is great, but I decided on the Titanium. Pickin it up in a week now since I think I can't live without it for two more. Again, sorry for the stupid question :/ but thanks for the opinions.
