What Body Kit?

I just got my RX-8 finally after wanting one for years. I got a 2004 grey grand touring with all the trimmings. I love everything about the inside I want to change the exterior though I want to put on a body kit and give it a good paint job. I am trying to decide between 2 body kits right now the first one is this Vision Autodynamics Invader Body Kit

and the oter one is this Vis Racing J Speed Body Kit

My question is will i lose my fog lights when i put on a body kit because in both of these they dont have the fog lights where I have mine...

My second question is more of me wanting your expert opinions on my thoughts for my paint job The paint scheme I want is below but instead of blue I want to use the RX-8 lightning yellow as the base and then transition into a tan color, that would match my two tone leather interior, where the big dar blue bad is.Then transition to the black like it is in the pic and have the lightning yellow stripes going back like the blue ones. What do you guys think?

both of those kits are garbage.
1st one is a replica of Veilside
2nd is a replica of the abflug kit.

Expect to have your body shop do a lot of trimming and fiberglass work to have those fit ANYWHERE near OE fitment.

You will lose the mounting points for the fog lights but you could always add some type of aftermarket lighting and even some smaller HID fogs if you get creative.

One thing I will mention is that both the Veilside and the Abflug are considered 'aggressive' in style so you'll need that custom paint job and a new set of wheels with lower offsets to pull off the 'look'.
To be honest I'm not a fan of either look (and neither are most of our members here) but if you like it then I say go for it.

IMO, the lesser of the two evils is the veilside replica.

all aftermarket body kits will require some form of work. The consensus is that replicas typically require much more work then the authentic kit which usually cancels out most of the savings of buying replicas.

The only body kit for me is the MS kit. Other body kits styling has too much going on. The MS kit styling is just right for my taste. I prefer simple than too much.

I agree with Monchie. Whatever you do, just don't add any of those hideous spoilers.

I guess I was asking more about the quality and if it fit correctly and if there were some people that had it and liked it.

DO not repaint unless you plan on having the ENTIRE car, frame and all, repainted or it is going to look really stupid and cheap..

depending on how talented your bodyshop is, you can have those fog lights mounted just about anywhere but the question is; will they flow with the new look of the bumper.

Also, make sure your body shop is familiar and has experience with aftermarket fiberglass bumpers, that'll save everyone some headaches.

After looking around since the list time we talked I think I am going to go authentic abflug or buddy club. Not really sure if i like the Veilside but the v1 is still in the picture I think. I have been reading on here about urethane and fiberglass and the body qualities and such so i feel a little more informed.

This is the most important thing.
Educate yourself on what's out there, what you can expect, and the whole experience will be a much smoother one.

I know it was for me.
