who cares? mazda extended the warranty on the engine anyways. all engines will fail. depends on maintenance.

What's wrong is your question. That topic has been discussed extensively here. You also quoted a couple of rumor sites, and act like they're gospel. The opening diatribe in the first site you linked comes from someone with exactly one post there. Not exactly a regular who's established some kind of presence.

If you're concerned about this, you should spend some time reading archives here. This is the biggest, most comprehensive RX-8 site. Has a good mix of fans and haters - plus experience going back to when the 8 was introduced. If you ask a question, you'll get the opinions of the handful of people who see your thread. (Most of whom you've already irked.) Search and browse the archives, and you'll get the wealth of experience of many people.
