went for oil change and advised to do more
Hey.
So went in with my own oil filter from race roots. Got the oil change done for $28.00. They come back and tell me based on the km's (62000km) its recommended to do a throttle body ($60+tax) and brake fluid flush($129.09 + tax).
So question is ... is this necessary at this point and can it be done easily or does anyone recommend me to have them just deal with it.
I am changing my plugs myself today so thought i'd post this and see what you guys think.

order 2 bottles of motul rbf600 and get a friend to do the brakes with you for free, its not too hard, i feel if you can change the plugs you can probably bleed the brakes also.

You can do both yourself. Brakes are good to do about once a year unless your track. Brake fluid attracts water so after time it does need to be changed. Now the throttle body again look for some DIY and you can do yourself. You should be able to get all the stuff you need for the price of the throttle body cleaning. I would recommend getting speed bleeders when doing the brakes so the next time you just need yourself to do them. Plus when you do the brakes check your brake lines closely for cracking and corrosion around the fittings. Not hard to change lines out and do everything at the same time.

Get some speed bleeders for the brakes and then a fluid change is very easy, especially with a buddy to monitor the M/C level.
Cleaning the throttle body and MAF is also simple.
No problem with basic tools.

oh cool. i will read up on how to and post back here.
i forgot to mention...the damn place overfilled my oil way above the dipstick level.
kinda pissed about that.
not sure if i should just leave it or drain some out.

How much did they overfill it? I've never had a garage or shop change oil without overfilling. My dealer usually fills so it's still on the flat part of the stick, sometimes up to the top of that, but it's never caused problems.
$129 is in the ballpark for a brake fluid flush. By all means do it yourself this time. These days I'm happy to pay someone else to do it, but I'm glad that I did it myself enough times to appreciate what I'm paying for.

its way above the max line on the dipstick. at least 2cm higher that is.
BIG PROBLEM...maybe not!
I had 3 leading and 1 trailing. who ever changed the plugs (which there is no record on the VIN) put a damn leading plug in trailing section. what a retard. could this be the reason why my plugs wire caught on fire?
will post pics of my old plugs.
i noticed there was a lot of brown residue and dirt (perhaps oil) where the plugs go in. i wonder if i should have cleaned it up. when i put the new one in i took it back out and not iced the threads getting some oil. hope its not a big problem.

Tan is what you wanna see, Black or white means no good.
Change the plugs and coils and wires(fire?), put premix into ur tank, go drive your car hard for couple of miles. good as new.
60 bux to do throttle body? for what? tell them to suck a ****
as for brake fluid flush, I would say buy 2 quarts of brake fluid and do it with a friend or family member. maybe an hour or 2 of time. don't forget the clutch uses the same fluid.

No crank shaft like a piston engine.
The only thing you really need to worry about is getting oil flowing out through the breather tube and into the intake runners. This is a bigger problem on the early models before the breather update because you could get oil all over the MAF, TB and air filter.
