well just broke my ankle

So I was going to dinner while on break from class and jumped over the parking lot hedge and right into oil. Woohoo. Roled the sonbtch so bad. Long story short drove about 20 miles back home. Now I'm in the er. But good news it's the right so hopefully roxanne ( my 8) won't miss the road for too long

Aw man, good luck getting healed up! It takes ages to get your ankle back to 100%, that is if you do...

You broke it or sprained it? I sprained my ankle recently and it took me 3 months to get back to 100%. And I'm 22--things at my age are supposed to heal fast!

Go to a doctor and get an air cast and some vicodin. You're going to need it.

Man. The first time you sprain an ankle bad like that... phew. Pain. Eye crossing almost pass out kind of pain. Makes a grown man tear up kind of pain.

Then after that it's no big deal. Glad its just a sprain. And, ya, clutch ankle is worse.

sorry to hear about your accident! I broke both my ankles when i was kid at different times. Both were because of my idiocy - the only thing i can tell you is if the doctor tells you to keep it elevated - be sure to KEEP THE DAMN THING ELEVATED AS LONG AS POSSIBLE! It really helps it heal faster. I didn't follow instructions the first time and it took forever to get outta the cast...

A badly sprained ankle hurts more than a broken ankle. Don't know about heal times though. Broken bones are typically 6-8 weeks. (At least that's what injury reports say in sports)

The doctor told me sprained ankles usually heal between 1 to 3 months, but that really depends on the age of the person and the severity of the sprain.

Mine was pretty bad, but not severe. I was on crutches for about a week. Within 2 weeks or so, I could walk normally but with some pain. I wore my ankle brace for the entire 3 months because it is incredibly easy to re-injure (you can do it just by taking off your shoe the wrong way).
