I sold my 10AE Miata today. I had put it on the market early, to maximize my chances of getting a good price and not having to trade it in on the RX-8, and yesterday I got a call from one of our local club members who's husband had just totalled their Miata in an accident.

I'll be buying a clunker to get me to and from work until the RX-8 arrives, so now I really mean it when I say "It can't come soon enough!"

That isn't the couple whose accident was mentioned in the "Southwest" forum on the Miata board, is it?

I haven't been on Miataforum.com for quite some time now, but after checking...no. The couple mentioned on that forum are our Miata club president and his girlfriend, who had a coming-together with a tree the weekend before last. The couple that bought my car are regular club menbers, and he failed to negotiate one of the bends on Lime Creek Road last Sunday night. Though she is also on the board of the local Rotary club (TX RX's), so I guess I'll be seeing more of them after May.

 

Yeah, after reading some of my emails, I realized that it wasn't the same car.

You people need to start being careful down there...
