I really liked the idea of having a WWP RX-8 with deep purple wheels.. until I saw you all practically murder the dude who had the purple and blue wheels thread. I searched for a thread to find out what purple would look like and I did find out; everyone's opinion that is.


I thought it would be nice to be able to be recognized, on here anyways, as an individual. Honestly, I can't remember who owns the "white RX-8 with bronze or black rims" because the look so similar. I suppose I'll just go with bronze now due to the intense hatred towards the color purple on wheels.


I understand the car itself catches the eye, but that's all I really planned to do the exterior is paint the wheels, honestly :p

Why do you give a **** what anybody else thinks about it? If you like the look then paint your wheels. Your car is an expression of your interests, not anybody else. It's your time, your money, and your damn car.

 

Because people's opinions matter to me for some reason. I don't want to be around a bunch of people talking about how crappy my car looks.

 

my take on wheels has always been.... they should not detract from the appearance of the vehicle they are on, the center of center should be on the car itself, the wheels should accent the car and not the other way around

do what you want! Who cares what others think. Everyone hates the side strakes, but I like them, so I added them to my car. When you give a **** about something like that, then you may as well just call yourself a coward

There is a white IS350 running around town on coilovers with properly fitted purple Volk CE's (I think) and it looks sick. The guy who owns it used to drive a White RSX Type S (full Type R conversion done proper minus the RHD) and he had purple Spoon wheels on that. Both looked good rocking purple.

Well dang, it's about the same color as the car you posted, just a shade or two darker but still distinguishable as purple :p

 

Damn, that lexus looks pretty sick. Off to build my own on Forza. Need to use the Hammen wheels to get the lip I think.

Just do it. I'm going with purple wheels on my brilliant black car (Audi S4... not an RX-8) and I know some people will hate it. I had red wheels on my RX-8 and some people didn't like that, but it was still one of my favorite mods for the 8. If you want to be unique, you have to accept the compliments and brush off the "hate". If everyone loved it, everyone would be doing it.

I happened to click on one of the pictures that popped up in the member gallery bar at the top of the page... I noticed the screen name was yours and now I know you're a girl...

A guy choosing purple wheels will have a lot less support than a girl. You'd think it would all be the same, but that's not the case. Pink is the same way. As long as the paint/coating is good quality, I think you'll get a lot of compliments for it. Based on the sample color you linked, I'd say you're on the right track for picking the right color/shade of purple.

Also... Watch out for the leg humpers. If word gets out that there's a new, cute, female member on the boards, they'll be sure to come running.

I didn't even pay attention to the cars.


But yeah, not so much the last one. A little more subtle than that bright color.
Hopefully I'll be able to get the car I want by the spring and as soon as I do, work will be done Haha. My boyfriend has vouched to help me install a lot of stuff so I'm pretty excited.


And it would be kinda weird to have a guy have the username "sugarfueled" in hot pink as their avatar, haha.

 

I think purple works with white but the rims have to be "the right ones"/ and with flashy rims you'll probably need more lower.
