Angry

Within 18 hours of getting mine, some jerk dinged the passenger side rear wheel well sheetmetal. At least it's over with.

Too bad that 5 days later, the car died and is now at the shop for who knows how long.

I hate to say it, but damage is pretty much inevitable.

One of the stories I've heard was from the Porsche Boxster board - guy treated his car as a garage queen, only driven on dry days, never at high noon, only in summer, etc.

He got T-boned by a 70 year-old on one of his "Sunday" drives.

Yeah, well my sister backed into my defenseless 8 in her big fat trailblazer. Cha-Ching! $2000 in damage. Moral here- make sure the person who hits you has insurance. And make sure you catch the people who hit you.

I bumped the curb once and I let a friend of mine bumped the curb once (with the wheel). Neither times were the rims damaged (thank god). But this weekend I took a few long drives on the freeway and now I have a lot of little dings (you need to look close) thanks to those big rigs kicking up massive amounts of pebbles.

It's inevitable, but depressing. Damn, I'm feeling more and more depressed thinking about it.

Mine has not reached 600 miles yet and so I go through this ritual of checking rear view mirror and front almost all the time and keep my distance from the cars out front. Be glad when that feeling is overwith and yes I park it at work on Venus. Don't dare take it to a mall or grocery store. Someone put some stupid advertisement card on my window and used my windshield wiper to hold it down. They toughed my baby on Venus too!! bummer.
