That waste of space where the nav should be
Why doesn't Mazda give those of us without nav a storage space instead? Closed, it would look like the OEM nav—only the cover would open to reveal a storage space instead. (Short of this, maybe just a simple open space—no cover—would be good.) Just seems like a waste of space the way it is now.

Agreed. Seems like if there's room for a NAV system, there would be a way to use the space for something. Doesn't bother me too much though, since I haven't fully filled the available storage spaces in my 8.

My girl's Mazda6 has this exact same setup like you're talking about and it works great.
I realized the other day there isn't much storage space within the driver's reach when I had a few CDs and directions to somewhere and couldn't really figure out where to put everything. It took a tap on the breaks to remember that CDs on the passenger seat are just gonna fly into the back through the convenient slot between the cushions.

Napkins? What about the toilet paper, forks, spoons, and plastic knives? I find storage places just encurage people to store stuff there that is usualy junk. I woundt mind something there that actualy does something.
