Warranty Work - Rebuilt Tranny - Rotors - Brakes O MY!!!
Hey its been a while since I gave you an update. Here is the background...
05 Sunlight Silver (curse) 20,000 miles. My transmission was grinding in 4th gear at high rpms. I took it to the dealership (under warranty) and we drove it...and they said they would take a look at it. Well they found some really thin ATF fluid in my tranny so they drained that out and put the proper stuff in there...didnt fix it.
Took it back and the service manager ordered a new set of synchros and gaskets to rebuilt the tranny....it took 3 whole days but i finally got it back today. Here is what they told me:
There is supposed to be a gap in between the synchros, where these brass bushing are and they were grinded up and destroyed. The gap was non existent. he said that he felt the thin tranny fluid caused this. Everything was replaced and they ran it on the platform at 125MPH to check the shifting. COMPLETELY CHANGED!!!!
The clutch and gears are now super tight and the sloppyness is gone. I am extremely impressed in their work. Feels like a new car...it really does.
They even painted my rotors and changed my squeeling brakes. Dealership is called Duncan Ford Mazda and this is located in Blacksburg, VA.

OP,
Check this thread out. Your input would be useful. As I believe I read you had your replaced under warranty.
