I let mine warm up until the RPM's are around a grand. Then I drive. I also always make sure the car is warmed up completely before turning it off. With any car its a good idea to let the car warm up abit before driving.

 

I let my temp needle move before I do. It only takes about two minutes. I drive less than a mile to work. But I find myself snaking through the neighborhoods instead of going direct, just to have a little extra time and a few turns to make

 

RX8_GT, I'm in Orange County, CA. The garage is not internally heated.

 

I've heard many times over that with modern cars no warm up is needed and that it is better to just get in, start the car and drive after about 10 - 15 seconds . . .

I don't let my cars warm up before driving, I just don't go over 5000 rpm's when the car is cold (or at least I try not :D )
