Exclamation Wanting to buy an rx8 but not knowing if I should help?

Hey I'm new to this website and I just need some help from rx8 owners I'm thinking of buying an 04 rx8 with 172k miles the owner says nothing is wrong mechanical wise but it needs a oil change and since the rx8 is a rotary engine I don't know if I should get it PLEAS HELP THANK YOU!

170K ?

it better cost around 4-5 K, cuz u will spend about another 4-5K to replace the engine

not saying it will blow, but any car (not just rotary, jeeze) with 170K something miles should replace the engine, or it's about time.

Yea I have been lurking and searching for info on my 04 RX8. There is tons of info on this site if only people will read.

How much?

Anyway, you need an engine compression test, and is it an original or reman engine?

I'd be very wary of buying a car with that many miles, regardless of the make. You can find good deals of 05 RX-8s with less than 50k for around 10k. Just be patient, and wait. Both times I've gotten one I looked for a few months before finding one that fit.
