I am looking at buying a 192 but need to know a few bits of information - the answers are probably staring me in the face but cant see for looking.

Can yoy tell me when the cambelt and clutch need changing?

I do not think there is a 192 in the U.S. with manual transmission. 192 hp comes with automatic. Just use the search engine and try to find some info.

 

There's no cam belt because there's no cam. Clutch replacement is like any other car - depends on how you drive it.

The cambelts from the factory are VERY weak. It's best to get that changed out ASAP, as you don't want to be stranded on the side of the road! There are some very reputable sellers on the forum, just do a search.

Also, you may want to install a cheap Cold Air Intake. They cost 200 bucks and they give you upwards to 15 HP. Very cost effective, and helps give your car some pep.

 

There's a recall on the cambelt you might want to look into. Its known to spontaneously combust above 8,000 RPM and turn the coolant into acid.

 

That depends on the year, hornbm. Remember that the 06's and above already had that sort out. So if they are looking for an 04 or 05, definitely get the cambelt recall done. Can't stress that enough.

 

^^ thats true. I have an 07 and my cambelt has virtually no wear on it at all! Its like I don't even have cams. I don't think i'll ever have to replace it. The pistons on the other hand...

 

Oh yeah totally forgot about it. I have a 06, so I already have the updated cambelt installed. Good lookin out ;-)

 

my 09 has camchain, soo much easier to live with
