That description of ur boy puking just about made me puke all over my desk. Ahh God how rancid it must have smelled. I once spilled half a protein shake in the passenger well of an old car i had few yrs back in college, and i couldnt get that smell (sour milk smell) out no matter how much i scrubbed and aired it out. It haunted my nostrils up to the day the car died from overheating....in the dead of winter i might add, piece a ****. Brrrreweck, i just got a shiver from remembering that smell.

...oh, yeah i hope you get it cleaned man, u dont want memories like mine.

I think the only fair thing to do is take a big dookie in the front of his car now.

Wow, sorry to hear that. It's pretty easy to warn someone you will probably throw up soon. That way they can at least pull over and you can throw up outside the car.

b4 this car I had a black, celica gts that was lowered and kinda cool. Had to drive my neighbour and her kids someplace and one kid was scared of the car and puked in the back. It was just kiddy puke (no booze) and the smell was gone in a couple days after cleaning with vinegar and baking soda (separately). Can't really blame the kid but I'm no longer friends with that family ... for OTHER reasons, mind you.

Good luck and don't fret too much. It'll eventually be gone and back to normal.

My dad left a gallon of milk in his car one summer and forgot about when my bro drove the car for a few days. The sour milk smell was so hard to get out he broke down and get it cleaned.

See now if I was even feeling semi-nauseous I'd put the window down. Did that once in my own car...was too plastered to drive so my buddy drove me. I wasn't feeling good so I had the window down. Better to clean the puke off the outside of your car than from the inside.

What did him in I think was that I got on the expressway and even though I was trying to be careful not to subject him to too many g-forces, I probably over-did it a little bit. The bad thing about a guy vomiting when you're traveling at 70mph is it doesn't give you much opportunity to pull over and let him do it on the side of the road.

It soaks in.
I may do this if we get a day with decent weather. Working in a cold, dark garage sucks. Thanks for the tip.

I had a plastic bag in the trunk. The bag doesn't do you any good when it's in the trunk. I was kicking myself for not having the foresight to grab it before we left the party.

Little update: my girlfriend had some carpet freshener (glade I think) that looks like baking soda. You sprinkle it on the carpet and vacuum it up. It does an absorb/mask combo on odor. I poured a bunch of it in the footwell (on top of the baking soda) and that made it so I don't notice the puke smell at all. The added benefit is that my clothes smell kind of like pot pouri now.

I'm going to do some more cleaning though. I'm not sure if it's worse to have it happen in the winter when you need to use the heat, so the heat liberates the aroma as you drive, or to have it happen in the summer when the car bakes in the parking lot all day. Summer is probably worse.

Can you guess who did the vomiting?

Here's a pic of my friend and I. Can you guess which is the one about to puke in my car?

By the way it was a themed "ugly sweater" party. We don't normally dress like that. At least I don't

I did that to my brother's civic years ago, after he cleaned the mess he put some Bounce (dryer papers) underneath his seats, and that incredible smell covered everything. Go try it.

Go to Home Depot/Lowes and buy a little cannister that sucks up the fumes. It's a little thing with a vent on it, and you place it in a car and it naturally soaks up all of the bad odor. There was a few drops of gasoline that leaked in my trunk and it was one of the most vile smells ever, and this thing did it. I think it would be near the cleaning supplies area. If you can't find it, PM me and ill run by my home depot and get the name for ya.

The standard in aviation is a product called Ozium. Do you smell puke when you get on an airline? They've been barfed in many times before. Must work, although I'm sure it's just an air deodorizer, rather than something more sophisticated.

I have a greyhound with atomic smelling and looking pee (seriously he must eat nuclear waste). He has this bad habit of marking his territory ... in the house. The only thing I've found to get the odor out is called Zorb. It's made by Dyson.

Looks like damp sawdust (memories of vomit in grade school!!) but smells like yummy oranges. You put it on the area and leave it for about an hour. I guess it dries up and takes the odor with it. Then you vacuum it away.

I've tried everything I could possibly buy at the local stores ... this is the only thing that works. Wish I had some more ... since you're local I'd let you have it if you came to a meet

Zorb on eBay - $12.99 free shipping

Josche: If you didn't rub your buddy's nose in it and smack him a good one, he'll never learn.

Learjet Pilot: I'm usually too lubricated to notice what the airplane smells like.

Oh god, I know how you feel. Literally almost RIGHT after I got my car, I had a girl throw up all over the center console and between the passenger seat and it. All over my shifter, inside the cracks below the E brake, everywhere.

After an initial cleaning, I just rolled down all the windows, jumped on the freeway, and drove. Still wasn't gone, so I wiped down everything again with Lysol disinfecting wipes and the spray. Took almost a week for the smell to go away. Just remember to drive with your windows down whenever you can to air it out.
