vent time!

so i just introduced myself awhile back cus i just recently bought a 2006 rx8. ive had it for exactly 27 days. not even a month! an idiot from out of town decides to back up his nissan maxima without first checking his mirrors or looking behind him. and what do i hear? CRUNCH! i was like WTF?! and the guy said "well hadnt you been speeding around the corner in your little fancy sports car" and i proceeded to say, "dumbshit. i was stopped. i wasnt even sitting in my vehicle when you hit it." so i call the police to file a report and he says oh you dont need one they dont even file it they dont care. i was getting very frustrated by that point. he just kept saying lets exchange info and we can be on our way. he ended up leaving before the cops came! ughh. heres some pictures.

You let him leave? Did you write down his info? I sure hope you did, or else consider yourself screwed.

emmers 09-27-2008 08:25 PM

yeah i did. i have all his info. ive been on hold with my insurance company for lets see... 20 minutes and 40 seconds, ughhhh.

j67345 09-27-2008 08:30 PM

MarcusGood 09-27-2008 08:32 PM

Damn, Looks bad but it could be alot worse. Hope this guy gets what he deserves...

ZoomZoomH 09-27-2008 08:33 PM

pink caliper...

dshiznit1489 09-27-2008 08:36 PM

What did the cop say? That's leaving the scene of an accident. He should get arrested.

emmers 09-27-2008 08:44 PM

the cop was indeed lazy and didnt care but all i wanted was a police report and an incident number so i could get that info to my insurance. dont need the runaround or excuses from my insurance.

dshiznit1489 09-27-2008 08:49 PM

Yea right, I'd that guy down and fuck his car up.

DarkLord7854 09-27-2008 08:50 PM

I woulda sat in front of his car and prevented him from leaving :P

I hate how cops can be so uncaring at times, it's annoying indeed.

Hope you get compensation from that twat

always.anthony 09-28-2008 04:28 AM

fkoolaggie 09-28-2008 11:01 AM

Ahhh that sucks sorry bout the cop..been in the same situation where they don't give a shit..good luck

Renesis07 09-28-2008 05:37 PM

ugh, thats terrible, whats wrong with people.

ZambonieDrivor 09-28-2008 08:32 PM

Yeah.. that is crazy... I've had a hit and run... and I had info... and they didn't do anything... all I got was my story on the insurance... and they counted it as a "No Fault Accident." So, at least I got no deductions on it.

[K]Jae 09-28-2008 08:33 PM

Wow cops nowadays are useless and they do sh*t
Goodluck with everything and go after the bitch in the maxima!

Jethro Tull 09-29-2008 12:31 AM

That's not too bad, emmers, just a fender from the looks of it. Is the door OK?

RX8-Frontier 09-29-2008 08:02 AM

That wasn't a "hit and run". It was a bump in a parking lot. Most times, parking lots are PRIVATE PROPERTY, and not under police jurisdiction for crashes, so no, the cop won't really give a darn about it. About all you can get the person for is damage to your own property, and if you already have their name and insurance information, that's all you're gonna' get out of 'em.

No chance that person would be prosecuted for a "hit and run". They exchanged information, end of story; that's a perfectly legitamate (and preferred) method of dealing with little non-injury fender benders on private (and some public, depending on your local laws) property.

Heck, in KY, all they require is for you to file a police report at the station within 24 hours of a crash. So two people can play bumper-cars, exchange information, and then go file a report at the station, and never once even have to call the police for it.

i thought only the 2004,2005 rx8 base model 4 port autos came with those rims?

are you sure its 2006?

dozer 09-29-2008 11:17 AM

damn that sucks ass

+1. I'm not aware of any state where the guy would've been legally obligated to wait for the cops to arrive for a no-injury fender bender. He gave you his name and insurance information and that's all he's required to do. A hit and run would mean he took off without providing you his insurance information.

It sucks anyway. Good luck.

Renesis07 09-29-2008 01:05 PM

yea that def sounds like a hit and run
