Vacuum Leak Sound

When my car switches gears ( I have automatic by the way) I hear a sound that sounds like a vacuum leak. I dont know if it is normal or not or if it is something to be concerned about but I would like to know what you guys think? Do any of you have this sound too and is it serious? Thanks!

I have an A/T too. Can you be a little more specific re: your impression of the source point? Exactly when it is emitted? Volume and all that stuff? Thanks

Well, lets say when im on 2nd and its about to change to 3rd.. it makes this shwwooooooshhh sound like it is collecting air and pushing it out. Its very weird and I'm sorry that I cant explain it better. But it does sound like it comes from the engine. I hope its not anything serious.

I sure hope not, too. On the bright side, there are so many RX-8 /rotary knowledgeable folks in the Forums that I'm sure someone will be able to provide some clues to follow up for diagnosis or a 'demystifying' explanation. Let's hope
