Hey guys, i'm new to this forum as u can see i'm posting here mainly is because i recently had this problem with my RX-8 while i was doing reversing on a slope my engine died out of the sudden. I was very surprise because i'm using auto transmission. Can anyone share with me whats going on? Anyone here ever encounter issues like this? I also did some check on google and yahoo about how auto trans will stall, answers that came out was because of transmission or engine fault. How true is it? Someone please advice thanks!

 

Describe 'died out'. Are you referring to an engine stall?
How does your engine run otherwise (not reversing on a slope)?

A trouble code scan would help. If you don't have a scanner, go to AutoZone and get it scanned.

 

yup that was what i meant. My engine just stalled while i was doing reverse parking on a slope.

 

Does it happen all the time or only once? Any red lights(CEL) in the dash?

 

This just recently happened. Hopefully it will not happen again but i'm still very puzzled by it. I hope nothing is wrong with the transmission or engine. Do you have any idea y this happened?

 

was the hand brake still on?

 

handbrake was off because when the engine stalled my car started to roll in front then i pull my handbrake

 

How low on gas was it? Were you accelerating in reverse when it stalled? How big an incline?

Oh, and, is this really an "urgent" issue? Really? It stalled once. Do you smash the panic button every time your car does the tiniest thing you don't expect it to? They're machines. They do funny things sometimes, and it may never do it again.
