The only thing I noticed though is that the shifter feels little tight. Before the accident I could twist it slightly (about half and inch or so) to the left and to the right. I'm thinking that my mechanic might have tighten so it wouldn't look like there's something with the tranny...what do you guys think?

 

It sounds like its screwed in a full turn more than it was before. Loosen it up one turn CCW

 

Well, congrats on it looking okay anyway...you should be able to twist the shifter all the way off, they just screw on
