union Rx8

Hey guys does any one know if Mazda made any Rx8s in Mexico?

Or conversely if any were made in union plants?

I'm a union rep and will only drive union made!

Cheers

Every RX-8 was made in Japan., and yes, they do have a union.

Terrible reasons for making a purchase imo. I'll leave the rest of my personal views of unions out of it.

I should mention that if our accelerator pedal sensors fail or get their signals crossed, the engine is held at a steady 3,000 rpm as long as it is on. Enough to start from stopped with the clutch slipping, enough for 60mph in 6th.

Personal experience.

Whats this about Japanese unions? From my understanding they opperate without unions due to superior wages.

(thanks for not flaming my thread w/ anti union posts. Much appreciated.)

I just googled "mazda union", figuring that if there was one, it would come up quickly.

Sure enough, one of the top results is from Mazda.com:
http://www.mazda.com/csr/csr_vision/...relations.html
Mazda has a standing labor agreement with the Mazda Workers' Union. We have a shared outlook on the direction of our business operations and aim to build relationships in which everyone thinks and works together to contribute to all stakeholders.
In addition, we regularly exchange information and engage in active discussions with the Federation of All Mazda Workers' Unions, composed of the labor unions of all Group companies, and make every possible effort to maintain positive labor relations.
It's pretty conclusive to me.

It is my understanding that there are plenty of unions in Japanese manufacturing. There isn't the animosity between them and management that there is in the West.
