underbody panels...
i was wondering if anybody has had there under body panels removed from there car. i hit a cat a while back and it completely messed them up, i went to the mazda dealership and they said $460 for a piece of plastic (yeah thats not going to happen) anyways i was wondering if anybody has had any issues of the negatives to not having them? i do worry about debris and such but will it really make a difference?
P.S. i did try the search button and found nothing.

THAT POOR CAT!!
The panel create less lift, redirect some airflow from the engine bay and keep dirt and water out of the engine bay.

Yep, that plastic bit is supposed to be there. It's not as bad as on my Passat, where if you remove the engine bay shield you allow the wheelwell liners to rub against the tires at highway speeds, but it still keeps the engine clean and that's a good thing.
