I was cleaning up the house today, and I stumbled upon my invoice. Back then I was surprised when the salesman told me that the base price for the 6spd was $26,780. I just figured Mazda lowered the price, and I didn't know about it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping the dealer keeps his word about the price since it's in writing.

When the car arrives, I'll slyly mention that I qualify for the graduate program, and then they'll have to knock off another $500

 

I think that might be the price before destination or delivery fee.
When I was building a RX8 on the website a few months ago I noticed a sudden $500 dollor jump in the base price overnight. I was then informed by the good members of this forum that the price was changed to include destination. So that might be where the $500 came from.

 

well the base price is 26,000+ but that does not include the gt or touring packages. just the very basic model. that is how i understand it anyway.

 

That's how I understand it, too. Total price with destination charge was $33,200.

 

*msrp includes destination fee, but excludes tax,title and license fee.
