Unclear on what to do...
Ok, I want to begin be apologizing for creating another thread revolving around the whole "recall/warranty" issue, but let me explain myself. I already searched through many of threads and tried to read as much as I could on this, but i'm still a bit confused...
My warranty is almost up & I am taking my car in within the next week or 2 to get a few things done "spark plugs, starter, etc." The thing is, I'm still not familiar with this whole recall and service bulletin stuff. I understand the recall basis and how we will only get a replacement if the engine fails the test it will be given, but how exactly should I go about inquiring about this mess?? Should I just go right to the Mazda dealer and ask my questions?? Will they be honest??
And second, can someone post a link to all of the service bulletins and warranty coverage that has been posted to this point?? I want to print out some material to read and get familiar with before taking my car in.
Thanks to all. I know this can be troublesome, but I need the help.

Its pretty obvious that either your "search" skills is low, or you simply "didnt search at all"
TSB has been posted like so many times on this forum, by typing TSB List I think you should be able to find the site that has it all.
Anyway, here is it
http://www.finishlineperformance.com...ins_index.html
Print everything that applies to your car, see if you have any of the problems. and bring all the "problem" to the dealer along with your printouts. If your dealer refuse to do anything about it , screw them and go another dealer(report it to MNAO said dealer REFUSE to fix known problems).
That should get you going
and by the way, you know that Powertrain warranty has been extended, right ?

My apologies again, I am just not on the internet enough like some of you with better knowledge to know some of these things. I did come across a list of bulletins, but I wasn't sure if the list was auto. updated when new ones came out or if new lists were produced. I just wanted to make sure I had the most up-to-date list. Thanks for your help though.
And does anyone who knows a lot about these vacuum tests know what are the limits the dealers are going by for pass/fail?

If your warranty is almost up, I would strongly suggest getting an extended warranty. It's a big out lay, but with all the problems people have been having I wouldn't want to be without warranty.

Word to the wise though...make sure it's a Mazda sanctionted warrenty though...most 3rd party warranties are like insurance companies...they'll try and weasel out of every detail they can.

I currently have 43,000 and NEED an oil change now... so I am going to take it in for that and the necessery TSB's like spark plugs, squealing brakes, starter, and to have my middle console fixed (the sliding track broke). I may wait or schedule soon for the vacuum test depending on if they have the necessary equip.
Yeah I just heard about the 60,000-mile warranty which is a bit of a relief.

If you read the pdf's that were posted you will find that they will do a number of tests and only do the things that need to be done. I will be taking mine in with probably 1500 miles on it and will probably only get the re-flash. They may change your catalytic convertor, or spark plugs, or the whole engine, depending on the tests. My dealer told me to call back in two weeks. They would have everything they needed by then to perform the tests.
Just a note to those that want extended warranties. If you buy your car new and have Geico Insurance, they now have 7yr 100k warranty extension and for me it works out to about $6 a month or $504 over seven years. I decided to go that route but then Mazda increased the warranty on my powertrain. Guess I am covered everywhich way.
