i found an '04 Rx-8 that I'm very serious about buying, but i want to make sure its the most high performing model of the 04 rx-8 line up.

how do i know the differences between each model (base, gt, etc.)

Is the car in NY? It is a manual so it is the "high" HP version. The lower HP versions are automatics and some manuals in other countries.

Looks like its a 6spd manual sport. Manuals have the most horsepower.

Looks like a de-badged 6-speed MT base model with sport package (or whatever added DSC to the base model that year), and aftermarket stereo and some other mods. Looks like it has black/red leather seat covers over the cloth seats.

It's a MT base, which is lighter than the GT (though maybe not with the mods), so as far as performance goes it's about as good as an 8 gets. If the engine is in good shape. Wouldn't hurt to get a compression check.

oh so it doesnt have the leather seats?

that could be a deal breaker but if they look sporty enough i could live with it.

would $8900 be a good deal for this car?

is the INGS body kit one of the better ones out there?

lastly, do they make the red leather seat covers for the back seats as well?

Leather seats are nice, but the 8 has some of the best cloth seats I've ever sat in.

I prefer the cloth seats, that's one of the reasons I didn't get the GT, the leather seats aren't the greatest leather around and the cloth seats are actually very nice. Plus the cloth doesn't get hot in the summer.

My black on black leather is amazing! I am a cloth fan too, but these leather seats are sooo much more comfortable then any other leather seats ive ever sat in. They are smooth, silky, and nice looking. It completes the whole interior.

BTW, that picture makes the car look like the whole thing was re-painted and not just the kit. If possible, get a HQ pic. Looks like a cheap paint job to me.

do they make front and rear seat covers and the steering wheel cover in the black with orange leather?
