Trouble starting

Hi guys, I'm a new RX8 owner and I really like the car. It's an '04 auto with just over a 100k on it. Great shape and fun to drive, but it has 1 problem I can't figure out. When I go somewhere and turn it off for say less than 15 minutes, it just doesn't want to start again. I've read about the flooding problems, but I thought that was when the engine was cold. It's to the point when I get gas, I leave it running. I have no idea when the last tuneup or plug change was. Other than this, the car is great, and I never have this problem from a cold start. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Get the service record for your car. You have no idea when lost tuneup? How long have you owned it?

Ignition or compression is probably the issue. Read some of the threads on it. Good Luck.

All I know for certain is all of the recalls have been taken care of. I will have to get the svc record. Would it be safe to rule out the flooding issue here? And also, could it be the plugs/coil packs? Thanks.

Start with the basics. The 04 Starter is crap so if you dont have it replaced with the newer version than now is a good time. Make sure you have the newer version battery too or else the new starter will be worthless. You need to have your coils, plugs and wires at least looked at.
Than check you intake setup and make sure all connections are tight, MAF gasket isnt pinched, and your two wire mesh screens are properly aligned and in good shape.
If still no luck, than go get the compression test. For the future, consider getting a Cobb Accessport so that you can datalog and check codes, get a custom tune for it.

Thanks for all the replies, I will have the coils and plugs checked/replaced. If that doesn't work, I guess I will just have to deal with it.

My '04 at 70k miles had the same issue. Slow or no start at a warm restart, it was a compression problem. New engine required. Hopefully your are rounding up when you said 100k miles, if so get it in for a test before the engine warranty runs out.

Sorry, just re-read your post you said over 100k. Hopefully, Bluerenesis' advice will do it for you.
