Traded the RX-8

After 7 years and 150,000 miles, the time came to trade in the RX-8. It was a tough choice as I've had rotary engine vehicles for almost all of the 25 years I've been driving. But I found a Boxster that was too good to pass up. I'm sure when Mazda releases their next rotary engine sports car, I'll be back in the Mazda family. Anyway, I put some extra parts for sale in the for sale section. If anyone wants brand new side and rear aero flares or a front grill, they are there. I am also selling a spare tire kit with all brackets and hardware.

I still get a little sad when I see other RX-8s on the road, but I know I'll be back in a rotary car someday.

Congrats on the boxster, (pics or it didn't happen - universal interwebz rules) it's one of the few cars on my short list of potential replacements.

Happy motoring.

Did similar thing with my RX-8 two months ago after almost 10 years of ownership. I traded it in on a new M235i. I'm very, very happy with my new ride:

Nice BMW. I bought a Cayenne S a while ago for my winter/need to haul stuff car. I found that after getting that, I was using the RX-8 less and less. So when the Boxster came along, it made sense to go with another Porsche for my daily driver and return the Cayenne to "drive it once a week" status.

My fiance has her heart set on a M235i (had one for two days as rental while her 128i was in for repairs) or M2 when her lease expires in a bit over a year...I'm going to have to hide these pictures from her.

Trying to make a trade in decision myself. I've loved my manual '07 rx8 for the past five years without a single problem. This forum has been priceless for me over that time, so it is a little embarrassing that my first post is on the eve of possibly trading it in. I'm nearly sold on a new 2015 GTI: fast and nimble although not quite on par with the 8, but more practical interior. The 8 is still a head turner, the GTI more subtle. In the back of my mind I keep waiting for the rotary go out on me since I just crossed over 53k miles. Thoughts? Terrible decision? Trade now and don't look back?

Thanks for all of your help over the years guys,.
