What will it run? I live in New Jersey, and I have a spotless record. 22 years old, and it will be under my name.

i haven't lived on the east coast for several years now but i would think male under 25 years old regardles of driving history would run between $1500 and $2k. if i remember correctly insurance was higher in NJ than in Pa. or DE. so you might think about moving or at least finding a way to register the car in another state.

 

Do you think the insurance companies will classify it as a four door car? That would be great if we can get a discount for that.

 

Well, technically it doeshave 4 doors- so let's hope so! Does anyone know what the saturn with suicide doors is classified as? I would think that if THAT is classified as a 4-door, they won't be able to leave the RX-8 off the list.

 

I got a quote from my insurance company (Sate Farm). All they wanted to know is how much the car costs. After telling them $30K, they said my rates would go up $104.00 per year. That's based on my current coverage in Dallas for a 1999 Miata 10 A.E. and a clean record. I also told them it was a four dorr car because they asked.
