This is my second week of ownership and I only have two weeks left on the standard three year warranty. I posted another thread about a squeal I hear at 6000 rpm and also around 7500-8000. That was the main reason I took it in although I suspect the sound is just the air intake valves opening. Also getting coolant light randomly and slight shutters in an overall smooth idle.

Took the 8 to galpin Mazda in Valencia and talked directly to a service tech who was very knowledgable in working on the 8. They went through the whole car and found my front motor mounts were failing as well as the switch in the coolant bottle. All was replaced under warranty although they could not determine an exact cause of my squeal, the tech did say he believed it was valves opening and the loudness may be attributed to my greddy exhaust.

Very happy that I did not procrastinate on taking it in but I am surprised there are still motor mount issues in a 2008

 

you might have been on old mounts that never got replaced.

 

Even 2010 my engine mount has issues. they updated the part so many times. hmm.

mines are working fine tho, 3+ years and counting. *knock on wood*

 

Mine's shaking when it's on idle. I need to have mine checked if i still have warranty on it
