I'm in guys! Brilliant Black w/ appearance package, rotary accent pkg, rear spoiler, 6 disc changer & the "designed in heaven" 6 speed manual. I love horsepower & torque just as much as the next guy, but I gladly sacrifice a few lb/ft of low end torque to enjoy the driving experience that comes with the RX8! I've envied these cars since inception... my lucky day was when MY WIFE said "I saw this new Mazda on the road... why don't you get one of those?" I didn't need any additional ecouragement. When your spouse says "get the sports car", you react... it may not happen again during one's natural lifespan!

Did you have to squable over price at all with the shortage of RX8s because of the factory fire? Just trying to get an idea of how the fire is effecting price and availablity...

 

No squables... I chose an 04, as there was a large rebate that I could not get on an 05. No mention by the dealer regarding shortages.

I got a 2005 black 6spd base and can't stop looking at it, black might be more work but it sure LOOKS GOOD!

Thanks, I'm loving it so much!!! Everyone keeps telling me that "you deserve it" and I don't know what I deserve, but I'm sure happy I got it finally. I'm SO HAPPY with my decision on the RX8. The car is a TRUE sports car and I love everything it is about...EVERYTHING!!!

I'm at 230miles and just above the 1/4 tank line...so I think I'm getting great fuel economy so far....so far...

You're right... the black looks fantastic! I'm going to post pics once the crappy Michigan weather breaks. God bless the cool wives who know the appeal of a sports car. She's no gearhead... a rotary engine & a rotary mower are all one in the same to her, but she's on board with how the 8 looks & drives!

Dad...nice!! Congrats and welcome to the cult!! I bought my 8 back in March and it is awesome. My last car was an '04 Mustang GT. You could say, I've got the sports car bug.
