Question Titanium??

Is the RX-8 Titanium the same color as the Mazda M6 Titanium.

I went to the Mazda dealer today and I was going to put in my order for the RX-8 Titanium 6M. The sales person showed me a M6 on the lot that was Titanium. Is was very dark and does not look like the Titanium on the RX-8 in the pictures on this site.

The dealer said they are the same.

Is this true?

no they have different names so they should be different colors. they are close but the rx8 version is lighter. to show the lines better than the 6 gray.

That is true. The 6 is a darker.

The official color is Steel Grey Metallic. The 8 is Titanium Grey Metallic. The sales man obviously does not pay attention to details on the cars he is selling.

When you see the Titanium you will not be dissappointed. If you look at the poll of color choices, Titanium is the favored color.

Congrats on being a pre-owner of the new 8. :D

perhaps instead of asking "is it the same or different" or "is this titanium" you should ask for the paint codes for the six. somewhere on this forum recently, the codes for the rx8 were posted then you can compare them. different codes= different colors

If you go through all the Mazda cars and see what colors they are offered in you can have a direct comparison. I don't recall them offering the Titanium on any other car. Double check the web page build sections to be sure. Pay attention to the exact color names.

The Titanium was (to my knowledge) only offered on the 2002 Special Edition Miata. If you can find one of those around that should show you how awesome the color is. And Yes they did call that SE color Titanium Grey Metallic.

My dealer when I asked him that exact question this week-end pointed at the Mazda 6 tit grey and said that was it!

I hope not because it would be too dark for me.

Can anyone post the real colour (or desciption ie number etc)?

rael.

My dealer said the same thing and we went out to the lot to look at the M6 Tit. It was too dark and very ugly. If this is the same tit on the RX-8 I don't think it will do anything for the car. I will have to go to either Blue or Silver.

I just got off the phone with a sales manager at mazda in my area and he said the Tit Grey is the same color as the Miata SE and the new Mazda 6. It is dark. He also said the colors you see on the internet are not the true color - need to see the color in the sun light.

Now I'm really confused on what color to get. He sid he has 10 orders and 6 are Tit and 4 are Black.

He alos said that Blue will not be out until fall.

Black is out, now tit grey is out too, both too dark. Vel red is a unknown red but probably too light....which in the Uk leaves silver or 2004 wait for blue.

****!

I just went on Edmunds.com and checked out the colors offered on the Mazda 6. There is not Tit Grey - only Steel Grey, which is darker. All the Mazda dealers said this is the same color "Not So"

They are a "bunch of know nothing A-holes"!

If you don't know your product or have the desire to find out from Mazda the facts you should say "I don't know" not give false information.

In Detroit Mazda had a display showing all the colors and which models they are available on. Titanium Gray Metallic had only one car listed -- and it was NOT the 6. However, the 6 does come in a nice -- but much darker color called Steel Gray Metallic and a lighter color called Glacier Silver Metallic.

The mazda dealer told me that the tit grey is the same color as the mazda 6 steel grey.

I need to know before I order!
