Hi, did anyone experince a ticking noise when they turn on the front window defogger, first it ticks once when you turn it on, and then every 30 seconds it go's tick, is that normal or abnormal?

 

sounds like the air conditioning compressor flipping on.

EDIT: it's probably linked to the AC Amplifier problem. have you had that replaced yet?

 

mine doesnt tick... but has a really whiney noise thats really high pitched and hurts my ears.... i don't think thats normal so i need to go get that checked out... but thats when my front defogger is on full blast

 

Yea, i dont think that's normal either. I've never heard mine make any high pitched noise.
It should click once when you turn the defogger on though when the AC compressor kicks on and then again when you turn it off.

Sounds normal to me - sounds like the AC compressor cycling, which is perfectly normal. You're probably hearing the electromagnet clutch kicking in, and then letting go. No problem, working normally.

 

I just got back from the dealer yesterday, and yes its normal yay, thx everyone.

Recycling it is.
