Three Simple Questions...

1. What is the deal with the metal rotor accent around the headrest of the front seats? It seems like this will be extremely uncomfortable and also a danger during an accident.

2. Do the rear seats fold down (independent of each other maybe, rear pass-through)?

3. Will there be no spare, but a spare is available as an option (spare tire kit, $395)? It's my take that there is a tire repair kit standard with the roadside assistance for the length of the warranty.

1. For a normal size person, Your head should rest above the metal rotor accent. (Just pay attention to photos with driver)

2. NO, rear pass through only

3. Standard tire repair kit. Spare is an option in the US.

i was thinking the same thing...i haven't sat in one yet but from what i can gather, the rotor accent is imbedded pretty deep into the headrest so i don't think it actually touches your head...i don't know, maybe someone that's sat in one can justify...

i know that there's a compartment you can open to get to the back...i don't know either if those seats can recline forward

yea, the spare tire kit is an option that doesn't seem to be available in the US as of yet...and it doesn't take up too much trunk space cuz it attaches to the top of the trunk rather than under the floorboard...

It's designed so that RX-8 owners can easily identify each other by the rotor imprint on the back of their heads.

I might have to stop sticking up for you Lensman;)

And I thought it was to identify on the forehead those back seat passengers who choose not to wear a seatbelt.

Hey, I don't need you southern dudes to fight MY battles... (it always helps though!) ;)

Quote from a now already old movie: "Dangerous, yessss, I am dangerous, LENS---MAAAN" (I am sorry, I only saw this one in German, so I might be wrong with the quote...).

I really love your humor, Lensman. "He strikes again" :)

TOP GUN??? omg... ahahaha... okay, i'm 19 dude, i saw that movie like 9 years ago, and it's not quite old enough (or bad enough) to get enough camp points with me yet...
..and yeah, that was on a VHS rental tape... ONCE... man... i just can't like those silly, romanticized (unrealistic) war movies... i don't think guns or explosions are especially cool, and yes, i harbour a distaste for pretty-boy McGuire...

*frustrated to the point of tears* anyways Rotormotor, you shut uuup!!

... AHAHAHAHA... ;) never mind, i shoulda got bit in the ass for that one: i deserve it... but yeah, i never really liked Top Gun that much... no excuse though. ahahaha... :D

RotorMotor 04-22-2003 06:21 PM

Wuteva dude. Top Gun is a classic, and I've only got 5 years on you so don't make me sound toooo old..... :D

wakeech 04-22-2003 06:25 PM

a half decade isn't a big deal?? dude, that makes you as old as most of the chicks i date ;)
and besides, that puts Top Gun right in the middle of your teen-pop culture: my Buffy to your Top Gun, see?? so :p

cueball 04-22-2003 06:27 PM

This thread is a great example of how bad we are about getting off topic.:) It is not a big deal here though, because all the questions were already answered.

zoom44 04-22-2003 06:29 PM

A. i like Buffy and i am older than both of you. now if they would just stop putting the re-runs in between the last few episodes i would be much happier.

B. that makes rotormotor as old as the chicks i'd like to date, only i'm married and my wife won't let me;)

C. i seem to be contributing to the taking the thread off topic problem. i should stop that :D

wakeech 04-22-2003 06:36 PM

bah... season seven Buffy is just "trying too hard"... Joss' best work of late has all been in Angel... ;)

zoom44 04-22-2003 06:37 PM

oh you know it. never miss an angel

Oh c'mon, Top Gun is the very pinnacle of 80s camp. The clothes... the music... aggressive male bonding... mirrored shades... butch nicknames... oh la la! Romantic side plot to keep the ladies happy but those leather-clad flyboys weren't fooling anybody.

Let's face it, the 80s as a whole were a bit camp really.

ahahaha... what decade won't be?? i'm just saying, it's too close to my youth (and i'm still youngish), it's still a little too real to be campy enough for my tastes, that's all.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm asking if there is a spare standard? If not, is there any type of tire repair kit standard? Also, if there is no spare standard, what is the "spare tire kit" include (fix-a-flat or a rubber donut)?

No No No, that's not how it goes......

This is how it goes in the original version:

[LOCKER ROOM, after the First Flying Class at Top Gun]

ICEMAN: "You are everyone's problem, that's because everytime you go up to the sky, you are UNSAFE."

MAVERICK: "THAT'S RIGHT ! ICE......man, I am dangerous."(grin)
