Should there be some sort of designation on our avatar that signifies that we actually own an RX-8? There seems to be a lot of non-owners on this site lately. And some of them are real flakes!

I don't own an 8!
Can't afford one, and wouldn't buy one if I could because I prefer larger cars.

But I love something different, which is why I have an interest in the rotary engine. I am also in a position to help those who also love and enjoy their rotaries, which I enjoy doing.

So, I don't think you should knock people for having the same enthusiasm as you about these cars, just because they don't have a car themselves. If you think a comment written by someone else is bs, then ignore it or counter it, but don't just criticize it!

Your response was kind of harsh. Although I also think his suggestion is a bit silly, he was only asking for opinions and it didn't seem like he was knocking on anyone. Unless you feel he was attacking you personally.

Isn't it an indication of how much attention our car is getting that wannabees register and send messages?

There's no problem and it keeps the forum busy

Who cares whether or not they own one? I didn't own one when I joined the forum. Now, I own one. You think people shoule wear a Scarlet Letter or something to indicate whether or not they own a car? That's just silly. :p

 

i own 1 ,but i don't care if they dont have and 8 let them enjoy the forum .and if they have too post a picture of 1 to be on this forum they could have lied too us and downloaded a picture .

 

It's like tv, if you don't like: change the channel or turn it off. Skip some threads or don't read specific peoples comments. I think this site is a benefit and is open for owners and non-owners alike. All the mods/webmasters don't even own 8's.

 

You could put an RX8 car icon in the area of the AIM icon. Kind of like the gold stars that kids get in grade school for getting good grades
