Thanks to you all...

Its' been three months since my first thought of buying the 8. It began with a friend telling me to just take a look at it. From that moment, I 've gone to the dealer to look at it first hand, attended Zoom Zoom live for a test drive, and hours and hours of reading this forum, I realized that I'm sold. Reguardless of the cost for the 8 (insurance, maintance, gas, and was debt free prior to this), I sat down and signed the papers. There weren't any surprises, I knew what to expect from the 8, the weak sun visor, the shinka, mpg, amazing handling, everything.

Two weeks and a 1000 miles later, I have ZERO regrets. Thanks to you all. Pictures are after first wash and clear bra

CONGRATS on the RX-8, she looks beautiful! 1,000 miles in two weeks??....that brings back memories....

Good decision getting that clear bra put on. Make sure to check out some of the threads in the Show & Shine section for lots of great advice on keeping her supper SHINY. (hint hint, Jedi Zaino Thread...)

Congrats on the new car. Great color. I don't think I've ever seen one like that in person. There are probably more more RX-8's in Southern California than anywhere else in the country.

I saw 2 black ones on the way to work this morning. This was a short 3 mile commute too.

So what kind of mileage are you getting on the new car? Mine sucks so I just want to see if other people are in the same boat.

you'd be surprised how much "stuff" is actually on a new car's paint. If you get a chance some time soon, I'd recommend a really quick claybar session. (Wax if you have time)

Other then that, ZOOM ZOOM.

I've gotten between 16 to 18 mpg, mix of local and freeways. The more I drive her ( my wife named her Foxy btw, its the only time that she approved of my "mistress"), the faster I want to go. I've never had this ....... experience for a car ever.... when I walk up to Foxy, its like dejavu at the dealer ship. THe mpg doesnt even matter, if its empty, than its time to fill up. Thank you all for the advice on keeping it looking new. I plan to give her a good detailing on my next day off.
