Ok I have heard something and I want to make sure it’s not a dirty rumor. Is big mamma Mazda putting telescoping steering columns in the 05 rx8’s? If so is it a standard equipment item or do you have to shell out for a GT package to get it? Thank you in advance for all the answers I will get from you all.

 

I'm pretty sure that the 05 is IDENTICAL to the 04, except for the "switchblade" key and the new colors. So no telescoping steering wheel. You sure you aren't getting confused with the G6 (commercial is on SO freaking much! The girl's also cute).

 

I don't know Blue I just though I remembered some one saying something about a telescoping wheel comming out but didn't remember when it was due, or where the heck I saw it.

 

Right before I picked up my 04, the dealer JUST got a shipment of 05s. He let me sit in it and play around. There is no difference other than the new colors and the key. It was basically the SAME car as mine but white.

Maybe for the future, yeah but not the 05.

 

Darn teased and disapointed again. I really could use the extra reach it would have afforded me. Oh well I am still a few years form getting one, by then it should be ready for a mid model year update and hopefully it will get it. Till then I will just dream of runnign an 8 through its gears. (closes eyes and dreams ahhhh ya sweet) :D
