swapping rear gears ?

Is there any threads on swapping out your rear gears thanks for the help

FYI, if you need a DYI this is beyond your abilities. Rear end swaps are not something to try if you dont know what youre doing.

this is not a pick up it will not be the same but that being said try your local gear shop or find a machine shop that can make gears cuz is far an i can tell ( ive been looking for a time now) no one sells ready made gears like they do in pickups

I remember a post three or four years ago from one of the forum vendors who was selling rear ends with a gear ratio different from stock. I'm pretty sure it was a lower gear (higher numerical ratio). No DIY, just selling the whole unit. As I recall, there wasn't a choice of ratios: the swap was based on available parts from Mazda.

The Diff housing is the same as in a pick up truck. Swapping gears is the same. Just make sure the back lash is set correctly.

That is kind of what i was thinking. The only thing I can tell will be harder is a lack of room to work in

You won't be able to change it while its in the car. Drop the subframe, pull diff out of subframe, change gears, put diff back in subframe, put subframe back in
