Why does it seem that every time I drive the RX-8 that I'm probably going to have some stupid idiot try to show off, drive dangerously, speed past me, cut me off, ride my @ss, slow down in the fast lane....

So this Altima passes me today like I'm standing still after riding my bumper for no apparent reason (I was already doing 5 over the limit in town). Then their buddy stays behind me just to gawk, I guess. So I don't bother lifting for the "slow" corner ahead and wouldn't you know it I catch the Altima. Not only that but for all of their weaving in and out of traffic they only got one car-length ahead...stupid.

Yes I shouldn't be surprised about the amount of stupidity out there but some days it really bothers me...

 

lol i know the feeling. the other day i had some kid in a eclipse try and race me....yeah... i saw him speeding up in my rear view mirror. and he literally almost tried to squeeze between two cars and almost wrecked...then got right up next to me and started jumping at me...honestly...ppl are just sad.

 

The 8 is one of the cars that attract attention....the good and the bad.

 

An "I'm an Automatic" sign displayed in the rear window should deter some of the challengers.

 

4 out of 5 drivers just r idiots i get that all the time especially being enrolled in an automotive school its even worse.........damn hondas

A C300 did that to me on the highway...
He was flooring it and showing off everyway he could. As soon ashe get's next to me, I just rev the car (not going any faster ) and he takes as a rce and the blasts off... Poor people. Where are the cops when you need them?

 

It makes me laugh when I'm in a lane, and just follow behind the guy in front of me, and the other guy trying to "race" me weaves in and out and seems to pull ahead, only for me to slowly pass by him only a bit later..

What really makes me laugh though is when going from a light, I generally like letting 1st gear hit 9k, so more often than not the guy next to me thinks I'm racing him and floors his car.

 

haha yeah i like to take it as a compliment sometimes...a while back i was heading home at a red light and this dude with his hat tilted to the side in a damn impala it was a newer one. but you could clearly tell it was his mothers. because it had like stickers on it and **** about her kids and what not any ways this dude honks his horn at me and im like oh geeze i look over he starts throwin his hand forward like he wants to race light turns green and i just go on my way not speeding be a responsible rx8 driver(which is really hard) he speeds off sees that i clearly dont wanna race the dude slows down again and lays on his horn and shakes his hand more aggressivly and swerves a little in my lane. so for the safety of my life i freaking tore into my baby like a bat out of hell it was great it made me proud and needless to say that punk stayed behind and away from me lol but i was responsible and i do not encourage, nor was i street racing. lol

 

yeah every once and awhile pppl do that same stuff and from the light these honda's and rice ******** try to race and i'll take off hitting 9k up to the speed limit leaving them behind then they fly past me and think they are hot ****!!! good times....but of course no street racing is involved never breaking the speed limit

 

It was cool the other day when the Roush S/C Mustang GT thought I was racing him on the interstate and proceeded to blow past me at well past 100 mph.

I encountered lots of idiot drivers when I had my 87 camaro. One guy in an F150 from the early 90's saw me behind him and slowed way down (45 on the highway). I just stayed behind him until he gunned it to about 85. I stayed with him the whole way, and then when he could no longer accelerate, decided to leave him behind.
But the biggest idiot of all I've seen had to be a kid I went to school with. We were leaving the school at lunch, him right behind me. I was in line at a stop sign and he didn't see the recently installed stop sign (only been there for 25 years) and failed to stop, driving his plastic buick through my steel tank of a vehicle. Triggered a train reaction with another steel camaro in front of me and a bonneville in front of that. His car was the smallest, and mine was the heaviest. His drove away, mine not so lucky.

 

Lots of crazy drivers in big cities..... I've gotten cut off so many times (alot more with my rx8). It's like they don't see me at all....Lucky i haven't gotten scrapped yet... In Boston, all you have to do is a 3 point turn (maybe not even) and you pass the road test. Incredible when you think that a good 80% of drivers can't look when changing lanes

it helps having a subtle color like black. every now and then people will rev engines at me; I wont even look at them.

 

Well to be honest i get the most ricey responses from other fellow rx8 drivers. To be fair i dont think they are members here , due to them being like 100% stock and still have the dealer plates lol. But yeah they do everything , weaving in traffic , tail gate , ricer fly by. Yeah ...they are gonna ruin our image surely.

I frickin' hate stupid drivers like that. I usually drive at about 5 over the speed limit and some jackass always flies past me, cuts me off then jams on the brakes. Why? I'm not racing anyone. I'm just trying to get to work. I once even had some guy in an F150 pull this little maneuver then attempted to throw a cup of ice on my car, but missed and hit the guy in the Passat in the lane next to me. The F150 hit the gas and then the Passat took off after him. dumbass.

 

I secretly race people in stop and go traffic...

...i find that it passes the time quite effeciently.

Example: I'll be going 2mph and notice i'm in front of the red 350z. SCORE! I'm winning.....
