The story of my first rx8...
Well it's been a journey but it's finally coming together...
Lets start off with I'm currently 18. When I was 17 I got my rx8, absolutely in love when I got it. It was all stock sunlight silver that I got for $7000. After a week of driving it, the motor went out. This was last August. After a numerous list of problems and a substantial amount if money, my car needed a new motor along with basically a whole new electrical system and clutch. Once I got to November of 2012 my rx8 was finally ready. Even though this car has given me nothing but problems I can't help but love it. At this point the car is basically brand new. I have worked as much as possible on top of being in high school to afford it. Now my rx8 has a RB catback, AP midpipe, revi intake w/duct, ksport coilovers lowered 1.5in, whole appearance package, and a set of enkei lusso rims 18x8 waiting for spring. I just thought I would share my story with you guys and keep in mind I am 18 and in high school, I love this car and have worked so hard for it! I also thought you guys could get a chuckle out of where I work.
So to anybody getting an rx8 and worried about cost, it doesn't matter, this car cost me everything I have but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Congrats, wish I had that amount of money back in HS to do all of that! My story is similar, have had my 8 for like a few months now, a big chunk of that is it sitting in different Mazda shops for new engine, new clutch, new radiator and some new oil lines.

I know that feeling. But be optimistic, you basically have a brand new car that will last for quite some time. And since everything is new, as far as rx8s go, yours will be reliable.
