stereo display matrix crazy

Hi guys..I've researched this thread to death. ..
I've read every post.
so my stereo is on but all the pixels are lit up.
Matrix style...
when the car isnt running its ok but when the car starts its unreadable. Seems like display getting too much voltage while car is running . ...always has power and lit .pushed the piano black half moon no difference. .
Every now and again it fixes itself for no apparent reason. ..not sure if its heat or vibration.
i removed the stereo and stripped it down. .appears no damage to face plate or two connectors/four screws.
tried bending the metal tabs back on the frame to
Make the connection tighter pulling the male and female connection together.
no luck...
checked all connections...between the front plate and the display including the little side harness . ..nothing apparent.
pushed face plate on and off while in the car...display went on and off but no change to matrix style plate...even put my hand in and wiggled the harness going up into the display to try and see if theres a loose connection in the display. .still no luck
ive resoldered all the connections on the face plate connections to the pcb under the half moon plate tonight ..hopefully it will produce results. ..
if not im guesing its the display itself. .but no other posts point to the actual display.
im open to any other suggestions before i go buying a head unit or a display. .
Please help. .driving me mad
..

Yep, if it's not a cracked faceplate that can be fixed then it's the head unit. I had the same issue, it was cracked and I fixed it a couple of times but it just got worse so I replaced it.
