I think back in 2005 the Sport was the upgraded model after the base (which was a Touring).

On an automatic what would I look for to confirm indeed it is the upgrade Sport model. Used car place got it at aution and says it is a Sport model. Not that they could ever be wrong mind you

ok, yes in 2005 that is the order. so what is inside a touring automatic that would confirm it is a touring model for that year instead of a sport model?

DCS button or some other clue that would confirm it is a touring model?

 

05 was Base --> Sport --> Touring --> GT

dsc/tcs, HID were available on sport --> GT.

I'm not 100% sure, so you'll have to dig around a bit to confirm, but iirc leather = touring and moonroof = GT?

But if they say it's an 05 sport it MUST have dsc/tcs. No button = base.

dealer has a left over gt rx8 (apperance package that I don't want but o'well), wheel locks and a few other things. will to let it go for 27,300 though that does not sound too good since the invoice is 28,735.

will go check mazdausa for inventory now...

 

I don't think mine had STD's but i never had it checked.

also whats a GS? as for some reason this shown up for insurance purposes on the computer as the model of the rx8.

 

^If you don't let the exhaust pipes cool before doing them, you're junk will resemble one w/some nasty STDs.

 

27+ doesn't sound like anything special, tho it depends on your location. Winter months (if you're in a winter state) and the end of the model year should equal much bigger discounts on an 07.

to be yet another one percenter of the 'I own a rx8 automatic' group should I end up buying one today.

yes I know, 'tuff love' the poor(er) guy just doesn't know what he is doing. I will try and try to remember that as I toss it into auto mode a 1/3 of the time (more like 100% of the time) while in heavy traffic.

and yes will remember also that owning this car in a manual is what allows it to run free. me, I will use the paddle shifters to achieve that feeling

base-->sport-->touring-->grand touring

dsc + suspension: sport-->grand touring
+ HIDs* + bose + sunroof + 18 inch rims: touring-->grand touring
+ leather + power & heated seats: grand touring

*=not sure where HID headlights come in...
