standard power vs high power

hello guys. can anybody tell me that whats the diff between the 5 manual and 6 manual in 0-60 and quarter mile. any experiences? thankx

zainanwar 12-24-2007 04:16 AM

anyone?

KostasNK 12-24-2007 04:35 AM

IIRC from what I read in car magazines the high powered's time for 0-100km/hr is 6.8sec,while the low powered's time is 7.2sec.The difference is allmost half a second.I think it depends on the drivers,if the high powered's driver makes a mistake changing gears ,the low powered's is flawless, then the low powered can easily take the lead.

Why do you keep creating these dumb threads?

Standard power is pretty standard...the high power has higher power than the standard. But if we're talking higher power, we really can't on this forum because we aren't supposed to talk about religion

Maybe after 40000m your low powered rx8 can have the same 0-60mph time as a newly bought high powered rx8!!!

:p:

You have to shift one more time with the 6, than the 5.
6-5=1 or 5+1=6

KostasNK 12-24-2007 09:16 AM

I only have to shift from 1st to 2nd and I have 105km/h just when I am hitting the fuel cutter, in my low powered 5 speed manual Rx8.

^^^I don't think anyone is being an asshole, just search for the threads he has already started. He already has answers to this question. As far as I'm concerned anyone who cannot help themselves deserves no help from anyone else. He isn't even trying, take a look at this thread which was merged from three seperate ones:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/diff-5mt-6mt-128380/

This guy needs to be banned.

How long of a 1/4 mile do you drive that you get to 6th gear, let alone 5th, or even 4th...

refugeefrompistons 12-24-2007 09:10 PM

Nice titties.

kersh4w 12-24-2007 10:34 PM

the 6mt would win. it climbs its gears quicker, because it has more of them. shorter ratios = quicker acceleration.

uh, i think.

Renesis07 12-24-2007 10:56 PM

Isnt the 5MT a 4port??
