My personal preference is the no spoiler look - better visability out the back window. I had a car with a rear spoiler that blocked the view and hated it. They really don't provide an advantage for handling on street cars.

Is that really true? Have you measured it or read this somewhere? Or are you speculating?

That would suk pretty bad if Mazda was just giving us 'looks' not substance for this option on a car that can go about 150MPH IMHO!!!!

5 lbs of downforce @ 100 mph.

the front lip is the only piece worth having if you care about performance over looks.

Fact. Good article a couple of years ago in one of the automotive mags. Unless you have a higher wing put in the right place, you won't get more than a few pounds of downforce. In any event, you almost never get anything under 100-110 MPH. Absolutely no use at highway speeds (unless you live in Montana!)

the spoilers of my cars has always been a love hate thing

hate poor vis
hate washing around most

love how it finishes the rear end from an external view.

Spoilers history
my (95gt & 97 Cobra) mustangs i hated (cleaning and view
my RSX Type -S hated (cleaning) and some cars headlights were hidden & it looked good without one
my 96 eagle talon disliked (just weird)
oh yeah 92 escort hated to clean

My 8 look great, view is good, cleaning (although harded that no spoiler) is easy.

as for down force "what ever"
