Speedometer Question

I'm thinking about getting an RX-8 for my first car, but since I live in Canada, the prices are overpriced (38000 MSRP, vs. 27000 MSRP). So I'm more likely to travel down to the states to pick up an RX-8 as I'll be saving quite a bit of money this way, and the money saved would pay for my insurance/gas/maintenance for a good bit too. What I'm really wondering is how does the speedometer work? I've only ever been in an RX-8 once, and there doesn't seem to be a traditional speedometer, but rather a digital one. Would anyone here happen to know if you could change the display setting on the speedometer to show kilometers/hour instead of miles/hour? Your reponses are appreciated.

But you might have problems with customs, sales tax, etc. I had a friend in grad school who was from Vancouver and bought a car while at LSU. Turned out selling it was easier and cheaper than getting it into Canada, but I don't remember the specifics.

Well, if I buy it, I would probably buy it from a dealership near the border that knows how to handle with the border taxes, etc. My father will also be tagging along with me as he knows alot more about the whole importation/exportation thing. So hopefully things will go smooth...But if not, I can always just buy it from Canada. Thanks for all the input by the way*
